Sorry to anybody who has already posted something like this.
Get the stencil you would like to make larger and cut it out on a smaller scale or get a stencil that you already have that has already been cut.
Next get a desk lamp/any form of strong wattage light and set it up about 4 feet from a wall (pointing at wall).
Place a piece of paper that is the size of the stencil you want it to be and tape it to the wall the desk lamp is pointing at.
Place the stencil (hold it up with anything you can find) in front of the light and turn the light on.
You will see the image of the stencil on the paper on the wall much bigger than its original version and the same resolution.
Grab a pen/marker/pencil and trace out the large stencil of the paper on the wall.
Cut it out and you have a very large stencil.
Extra notes: You can play with the distance between the stencil and the light and the light and the wall etc. to get your accquired size. THis is the same thing as a projector basically but cheaper. (once again, sorry if this has been posted a million times but i figured why not share this brilliant idea ) |

very sneaky! I like it!
But won't you be more susceptible to losing details and bits of information if you blow it up?
Have you tried this before? What were your results like? Definitely an awesome approach to a problem! |

| oh kk yea i was looking for my post to link to you and noticed you found it, all good. But going back to "trsspidey, i have tried it several times and it works very well. One thing to keep in mind is you need good lighting. That is important and probably most important. Get a good desk lamp around your house or on the street that has good wattage/bright. Second do it at night when the contrast between day and your lamp is the highest so you get best results/most detail. And finally when your done drawing it on the large paper stuck to the wall go back to it and compare it with your original stencil. A few lines might be undefined or missing but it literally took me 5 mins to re-draw a few parts that i lost a bit of detail on. Overall works well though, wish the best to anyone who tries it. Pm me if you have any further specific questions or just leave it in this post. |

Sounds good. The first thing that came to my mind was possible distortion of the image by stretching due to the position of the light?
This is before I've given it a go though so will try it first and then see what we come up with.
